A. Useful expressions

1. offer----hold out sth. that you want to give to someone, say that you will give if the other person wants it 提出， 提供

常用 offer sb. sth.

The young man offered the old woman his seat.

offer 也與不定式連用，表示 愿意做某事

They offered to help us.

offer n. 提供，提議

Thank you for your offer of help

2. reach vt (get to, arrive in/at) 與賓語直接搭配， 不加介詞

3.We reached the factory at four yesterday.

Get here/there/home get to school

如果不指明到達(dá)的地點時， 只能用arrive

4. discover vt. find or learn about (a place, a fact which exicts before) for the first

time 發(fā)現(xiàn)， 看出

Columbus discovered America in 1492.

We have discovered that he is quite careful in his work.

5.invent vt. make or design sth that did mot exist before 發(fā)明， 創(chuàng)造

6. find discovered sth by chance, come across,

Look,! What I’ve found.

7. enough

We have enough seats for everyone . 作形容詞用，放在名詞前。

They cannot walk fast enough。 作副詞用，放在形容詞后

B.席間交際用語。

1）主人用語既要注意禮貌又不要使客人拘謹(jǐn)

Would you like some(pork, mutton…etc.)?

How /what about( a glass of beer, a cup of coffee,etc)?

2)客人用語既要注意禮貌又不要假裝斯文。

It’s nice/delicious/unusual. 味道很好/很美/很有特色。

I wouldn’t say no to some of (pork,mutton,etc)我不會謝絕（豬，羊肉的）

It’s nice, but I think I prefer it well-done.味道很好，可我更喜歡燒熟了的。

The cake is well good, but I’m full. / I have had enough.

3)客人表示接受主人的建議時，可用。
